How far in advance will I need to book?

Easter through to September is the busiest time for the outdoor event industry and there will be dates during this period which become booked up over a year in advance. However, under normal circumstances, 6 months is a reasonable amount of time to find your venue, obtain quotations, arrange meetings, confirm suppliers etc.

How long is the hire period?

The standard hire period is for 1 day. However, if you can let us know of other requirements well in advance (for example a family lunch the following day) this is normally possible at no extra cost.

When do you deliver & dismantle and how long does this take?

This depends on the size of the event, access to the site, fitting in with other contractors etc. However, we always aim to have the build complete so that caterers/ florists etc have at least a day prior to the event. The marquee can be left up for additional events, however, under normal circumstances we would wish to clear the site at the earliest convenient time. Generally speaking we need one full day to install and dismantle the equipment.

Do the marquees damage the garden & do you clear up afterwards?

We always take every care not to damage a client's garden. During the summer grass may be discoloured for up to 2 weeks after an event depending on how long the marquee has been up. We would also ask clients to understand that erecting and supplying heavy equipment for an event, however small, is never without some difficulty. Our last job before we leave you is to comb the site for litter. We do ask that catering rubbish and equipment is removed prior to our arrival to dismantle the marquee.

Do the mobile toilets come with soap, loo rolls, hand towels etc?

The luxury mobile toilet units come complete with toiletries where as the single chemical units do not.

Each heater will run for approximately 12 hours on one tank of fuel. Fuel used will be charged at the market rate.

15 hours run time is included in the price when hiring a generator. Additional hours are chargeable thereafter. Please check the terms on you quotation or contract.

Will I need a drinks/entertainment licence?

Generally, you only need a licence if you are intending to charge for alcoholic drinks. If this is the case, the people running your bar should apply for this from the local magistrate.

Marquees & Pavilions have public and products liability insurance with an indemnity limit of £2,000,000. However, each client is responsible for the company's equipment during the hire period. We include a damage waiver fee on your quotation, which can remove provided you have taken out adequate insurance cover.

Can we smoke in the marquee?

As we understand the new legislation it does not prevent people smoking in a private dwelling but places of work must be smoke free. Therefore if you have catering staff, bar staff, musicians, etc this would be classed as their work place and must be smoke free.
